hdc chalk paint line

When I started painting furniture over five years ago, it was a hobby I picked up to spruce up some handed down pieces for my first apartment. I had a vision and a budget that were not congruent and I had to get creative to execute my vision with no money. I took what others were willing to give me or what I could find at thrift stores to start. After extensive (or obsessive) research, I landed on chalk painting for refinishing. I was an amateur and I needed something easy that would produce great results. At that time, Annie Sloan products were some of the only ones on the market. Although affordable compared to a new piece of furniture, I could not justify spending that kind of money on paint. This led me to learning how to make my own. I’ve been using the same recipe since the beginning and it has never once failed me. It goes on smooth, self levels as it dries, and has enough flexibility to get whatever finish you want. I have used this paint to create finishes that are distressed, matte, buffed, smooth, textured, and layered. It is durable without a top coat, but also takes one easily and evenly. Overall, this product provides a professional finish that can meet the needs of any style.

With so many products and colors out there, I know it can be overwhelming choosing the right one. I wanted to keep it simple with a small, curated selection of colors that were tried and tested by myself. All of the colors in my line were hand picked by me and named after inspirations in my own life and childhood. You can order any of these colors directly from my website by clicking here. While I have hand picked several colors to create a curated collection, you can also order customer colors. You can fill out the link on my contact page to start that process.

I offer my paint as an affordable alternative to the market prices without sacrificing quality. I know what it is like to work on projects within a budget and I want to my products to be accessible to as many people as I can. I do this by keeping the packaging and production simple and small, which allows me to price it fairly. Each jar comes with 8 oz. of paint in a reusable mason jar for better sustainability practices. I have found this amount of paint to be perfect for most painting projects, which also reduces waste from leftover paint.
